Flooring care
Simple care goes a long way. Always follow the manufacturer guidance supplied for your specific floor where it differs from the general advice below.
Carpet
Vacuum regularly using a setting suitable for the pile.
Deal with spills promptly. Blot rather than rub, and use cleaning products suitable for the carpet fibre and backing.
Avoid dragging heavy furniture across the pile and use suitable protection beneath high pressure furniture feet where needed.
Vinyl
Sweep or vacuum grit regularly so it is not ground into the surface.
Clean with a damp mop and a product suitable for vinyl flooring. Avoid flooding the floor with water.
Use entrance mats to reduce tracked in grit and dirt.
LVT
Sweep or vacuum loose grit regularly and clean using a manufacturer approved cleaner with minimal water.
Use protective pads beneath furniture and avoid dragging heavy items across the surface.
Cork
Follow the specific manufacturer care guidance for the cork floor supplied.
Use suitable entrance protection, remove grit regularly and avoid leaving standing water on the surface.
Do not assume every cork finish uses the same cleaning product.
Carpet tiles
Vacuum regularly and deal with local spills promptly.
One advantage of modular carpet tiles is that individual damaged or heavily stained tiles may be replaceable, subject to product availability and the original installation.
